The Radical Nightjar

This lettering was created for The Radical Nightjars, a feminist art collective based on street activism. The group uses street art as a powerful tool to claim space, challenge norms, and amplify voices in the public sphere.

The name is inspired by the nightjar, a bird known for its distinctive, loud call — a metaphor for the collective’s strong, unapologetic presence. The flowing, expressive curves of the lettering echo this idea of voice, movement, and resistance, while maintaining a bold visual impact that works across different urban contexts.
